American Dream Mall is about an hours drive from Lakewood. Lots of fun activities and shopping, although bear in mind retail stores are closed on Sundays.

What about NJ state Fair at Metlife stadium? About an hour and a half from Lakewood. We went a few years ago and really enjoyed, but be beware some of the shows are a bit seedy.

We love kayaking on the Delaware. Bucks Country kayaking is about an hour away. There are some really nice spots there for picnic/BBQ. It is pricey though.
