For vacation, definitely not. To go to family, only if it's important and there's no other choice. We don't even travel by car unless it's necessary.

I avoid all travel to the extent possible. I certainly wouldn't go on a pleasure trip.

It's not a time for vacations
For visiting family, depends on the circumstances.
I think you're also allowed to travel to EY

There is definitely no halacha that says one cant fly during the 9 days. But many do not fly because it is a scary time of year.
But there are people who do fly if they must.

Not if I can avoid it. Certainly not for pleasure.

Definitely not!
We even avoid car trips unless doing a mitzva (such as visiting parents)

You can ask a sheila. She can't go after?

For my family the 9 days were the only time of the year we could vacation (due to the nature of business we were in) and we did.

It’s not black and white.

I know afew people like this. You're allowed to vacation because it's the only time you could. This falls under the circumstances of being allowed in the 9 days.

Is she going to help? If not, I'd wait.

I am planning on flying after the Tisha B’av. My dh asked me if I want to go the week before. I said I don’t want to fly during the 9 days, but I also don’t want to be in NY on Tisha B’av. It’s a long summer day there and here is a shorter winter day. Wink

She is going to help also and she is very bored at home.

How critical is the help? Maybe ask a shaila.
I'd try to wait.
Tisha B'Av at home won't be exciting and it shouldn't be but you might be able to offer her interesting content. Kosel webcam and kumsitz, Zoom programs (check out Holocaust museums?), Project Inspire, etc. Hatzlacha!
