When my son was 6 months, he started pulling at the arches and it looked like it was going to collapse. At that point, I removed the arches. He would also pull the arches and the whole mat would tilt. Didn’t seem safe to me.

Right. I promise the baby wouldn't suffocate or be injured from this. And at this age, he could probably remove the mat himself--they're quite light--but I guess it depends on personality too.

I'd have been more concerned about the mat than the kid.
