I'm looking into an apartment in Yerushalayim for 5 people for YK and Succos and I'd love to know "the going rate". Can anyone give me a ballpark figure?

Depends what the hosts feel they are entitled to.
I saw a 1 bedroom apartment in Romema (top area) for $1750 and For over $30,000 for a 3 bedroom apartment in the exact same area.

I would look on Airbnb. It's a little late for standard rentals.

I'll reply from the other side, if you don't mind
I'm interested in renting my 4 bdrm apartment in yerushalayim
Prices started out at 15000$, until the summer, when demand and prices went down.
It's closer to 10000$ now, although demand is definitely picking up again.
I'm in a rush, because I want to plan my Yom tov, so I'm not waiting for the price to go up again.
Hope this helps

People are still advertising rentals. Obviously the choice at this point aren't the greatest

I think there are many more reasonably priced apt available now than a few months ago. Not everyone knows so much in advance what their plans will be and also people who listed at a higher price but didn't get offers lowered their prices.
The best way to find is by word of mouth and local advertisers like nshei newsletters. You can also look up on jdira.
Good luck!

OP its probably a bit late to start looking now. But also remember that yerushaliyim in very large with many different neighborhoods so the prices are going to vastly vary.

A *bit* late? Speechless
IMHO it's extremely late. People close rentals already in Nissan. Not in Elul.

The sky is the limit.
There is no general going rate.
FYI people close bookings by Adar-Nissan.

There are people who decide very late in the day that they want to rent out their place, so there is still hope. I'm still seeing advertisements for rentals
