Any suggestions for what my 12 year old son could occupy himself with after school? He is home close to six but does not like being "bored".
He does not have homework and we do not have TV -video games or the likes.

Cards games he could play with you. Art projects. Electronic chess. Board games. Baking. Assist with dinner setup. Large Lego project to do over time.

My son that age loves large puzzles and we also are having him learn an instrument so he has time to practice

Simple electronics (they have kits)
Magic show
Instrument
Wood burning
Maybe a group of like minded boys can get together and form a Jewish boys scouts

My son was part of Jewish Boys Scouts about 20 yrs ago
They had 2 frum scout masters 1 father 1 rebbi from their yeshiva
They had special Jewish patches they earned
Tzitzit tieing, tefillin, mezuzah/Sofrim, etc.
They also earned the regular patches
They would go camping over Shabbat , about 5x a year

Cooking dinner
These are things my mom suggested when we said we were bored
Cured boredom immediately, 😂
