Looking for information for the Mekor hatorah and Cohen's. My son is a nice, sweet boy, but weak. He needs a laid back place for high school and we'd like to send in town. Anyone with any information they can share would be so much appreciated.

Someone told me that Cohen's is called Cohen's 2.0 - not sure what that means. But maybe that would help?

There are 2 rabbi Cohen's mesivtas, people probably say 2.0 to differentiate

Correct. There is R' Daniel Cohen's yeshiva and R' Chaim Cohen. The one you are referring to is R' Chaim and the boys call it 2.0

Rabbi Cohen's yeshiva is a special place. Unreal warmth and love and motivation for the boys to really learn and shine. Amazing growth happening there.

You can also take your son to meet Rabbi Binyomin Strauss. He helps explain the yeshivos to you and makes a recommendation after meeting your son. Its a free service. Also his 8th grade Rebbe can be a big help in guiding you.

Reb Chaim has 2 brothers who run a bm Yeshiva as well 😂 called Ateres Yisroel. Its also a great place

Yup. And one of those brother's wife is Mrs. Cohen from Shiras Bais Yaakov.

I dont know about Rabbi Cohens yeshiva, I did hear that its a good place. Mekor Hatorah, has a dorm and very nice building. Its an extremely strict place. Your son has to be able to handle that. Very good Rebbeim, each boy has his own chavrusa by night seder. They also have extra curricular a little bit during free time, theres woodworking, different lessons for instruments, there used to be photography, not sure about now. Theres a method they do to bring the boys up levels over the years. I'd say its warm bec the rebbeim are warm, but its very strict. English is also strict, they have an english principal and assistant principal.

Hi, with dorming I believe its over 20,000. Im sure they give some sort of breaks but wouldnt know how much.
