I think tap water is nauseous. Anyone else?
I was just made aware that most people drink tap water (lakewood). Is that true?

We never use municipal water for drinking or cooking. I don’t know how clean our bottled water is actually but it’s gotta be better than municipal. Looking into whole house filters.

I live in NYC and our two water of delicious

That said I’ve never heard of someone using bottled water to cook with!!! That seems luxurious on a level that’s unfathomable to me

It depends where you live! In New York City, including Brooklyn, the tap water is great quality. Other places I've been...not so much.

We have a filter. We only use tap water. If we would drink bottled water we’d go through a truck load per week.

Apparently NY tap water doesn’t have the bug problem that NY does so there’s that.
But I use a water cooler for cold and boiled water.

Are you drinking NY water from tap? I sure hope not because every rabbi and kashrus agency said there are bugs in the water

Not all. R' Belsky held it's not visible to the naked eye so not a problem, but anyway most people use EZ filters.

We only use bottled for cooking and drinking. We go through a case a week. I did this in Brooklyn and now in Lakewood. Tap water tastes disgusting, tastes like metal and chemicals, and we hold it should really be filtered.

Tap water in Monsey is absolutely disgusting.
I use it for cooking, but all drinking water is bottled water.

Live in Elizabeth, NJ. Have always drunk right from the tap - no filter.

No filter no bugs. As already written your assumption is false

Yes. This is total nonsense.
I think it is a "frum" thing that you gotta have filtered or bottled water because tap water is just so "gross". Most people in the country drink from the tap.

and plenty of poskim say there is no issue. As far as I know that includes those in YU, and that is good enough for me.
