do you recommend the liners for crock pots? If yes how do you use them. I read in the box that you first insert liquid inside the pot then insert liner with food. Is this correct or do you insert the liner without any liquids in the bottom?

please share your experiences.

thanks,

I always use liners. First I heat the crock pot with hot tap water to speed up the cooking (I defrost the soup in that water at the sae time) then I pour out most of the water leaving about 2 inches, then the liner. I never have burnet on food and the clean up is super easy.

depends on the brand. The "kitchen collection" ones tell you to put in water, and I do. I also twist the top shut.

The reynold's bags say do not.. I would add water and get a funny taste, then I realized you are NOT to add water to the crockpot (before putting the bag in) with this brand.

I love them.

I also use roasting bags for my whole chickens.

I do have a concern aout the long exposure with high temp. to the plastics or whatever chemicals are in the bags-- it makes me a little nervous with all they are saying now about plastics and baby bottles and all.

I wouldn't make cholent without them! My mother used to make without and then switched and there is NO change in taste. I just put it in-no extra water or anything.
