We just got here tonight, but we come here cuz my mom is in Miami and she comes up.
We brought meat, everything else we are buying here. I might ask my mom to bring one or two things.

Nope. Not going to Orlando or Tampa or any place in Florida
I live in Israel
And all imamothers who live in the US and don't to to Florida: There is no Torah command to visit Florida during winter.
I don't follow the 11th commandment "thou shall follow all trends, fashions and fads that your fellow Jew and neighbours follows"

And Orlando is only a thing if you make it a thing. Like I said, we come so that we can see my mom. BH the first time we came was when my father was sick, and my children were able to see him. He didn’t look awful at the time, and that was the last time they saw him, so they have a good image of him in their heads.
Not everything needs to be looked down on.

We don’t go to any of the attractions
We enjoy a getaway at a nice Airbnb with a private pool. The weather is usually so much warmer and sunnier than where I live. It’s just a relaxing, rejuvenating few days. Last year we were in Miami and walked on the boardwalk when the weather was a bit too cool for swimming. It was stunning. We had left a blizzard and found ourselves in 70 degree weather with sun and palm trees.
No need to knock people who choose to go away for a few days. We aren’t doing anything wrong.
