I think this is the one...
3 c flour
2 1/4 t instant dry yeast
1 t garlic powder
1 t dried basil
1 T sugar
1 t josher salt
1 1/2 c warm water
2 T olive oil
Topping:
5 T olive oil
1 t dried basil
1 t garlic powder
1 shallot, finely diced (I omitted)
1/2 t kosher salt
In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with a dough hook, combine all ingredients and beat for one minute. Dough will be sticky but should pull away from sides of bowl.
Grease 12 muffin cups with cooking spray. Place a scoop of dough in each cup. Allow dough to rest, covered, in a warm place for 30 minutes until doubled in volume.
Preheat oven to 375F(190C).
Combine topping ingredients in a cup, mix well, and spoon over buns.
Bake on center rack until golden brown, about 20-25 minutes.
Yield: 12 buns
My observations when I made this on Thursday for the first time:
It really makes more than 12. You can't put too much in each muffin cup because they grow too big. I'd say the yield is closer to 15/16. I also found the topping to be way too oily; I'd use less oil. I also found the cook time to be too long. I'll cut down next time.
