I like to give a real food item (not nosh, or baked goods, or anythinghome made) for mm. The item I used to give doubled in price so I am looking for a new idea.
I would spend up to 3.50 or 5 dollars. Any ideas?

I’m not sure how much these cost in your area but some ideas are guacamole, small containers of tuna or egg salad, Soup, salad, veggies, all packaged with some crackers or a roll or breadsticks

Thanks! I want to clarify. I don't want something home made. I want something packaged in a store. For example a nice cheese and package of crackers.
Anything else along those lines?

I'm trying to figure out how to word my question better to get responses that I am looking for. If anyone can articulate it better, please chime in.
I want a food item that can kind of look gourmet or classy. Something dry and packaged. Not yogurt, chummus, vegetables type. More like cheese, cold cuts etc.
Anything along those lines?

My grocery’s meat department has some deli packaged really nicely, like on a gold tray and vacuum sealed. I’m not sure how much they cost though.

What did you use to give?
And what are the prices for everything else? Because if we say that you can give x but its what you have been given up until now or expensive then we are not helping you. Maybe its best to check the stores in your neighborhood and let us know whats on sale or in your budget and then we can tell you what the best food item can be otherwise we are just guessing and not being very helpful (especially if we dont know how much different food costs in your neighborhood).

They have it in a lot of stores, offhand Mehudar meet. It's by Solomons or a satmar type company. About $10+ for 4-6 oz.

I know thos sounds silly but I'd rather not say cuz it was kind of my signature that I was known for!

What I did last few years cost $5.
$1 store nice plastic bowl
$1 or less, dollar store tongs
$1 shredded carrots bag
$1/1.50 shredded cabbage bag
Homemade dressing + seed mix in mini container
It's a hit every time
It's a salad for smack in middle of day when all around is nosh or a salad for seuda.

A bottle of beer and 2 Aufschnit beef sticks. Gather them together in burlap ribbon and tie into a bow.
