I know it’s possible on outlook but can’t figure it out on gmail

According to google you can click the undo and it will recall the message. This could only be done right after it was sent. After that there is no way to recall. The recall button on outlook only works if the recipient is also using outlook otherwise it fails.

Recall isn't worth it. The original email stays in the recipient's inbox. They just receive a second email that says the sender recalled it. Makes the whole thing even more obvious.
Just write please disregard previous email, and then continue to write whatever you need to in same email.

After once sending a draft of an important email accidentally, I set a 30 second delay on my Gmail. Essentially, all emails remain in my inbox for 30 seconds after I hit send and I can undo them. It's a little annoying at times but worth it for my peace of mind.
