Hi! Just wanted to double check with all you wise ladies. If my daughter and son in law are going to Israel for the year N.A. driving near the Mir, iyH- they would sign up for insurnace in the holding next to the mirrer? Is meycehdwt the most common one to sign up for in the mir, Sanhedria area? And about what is the cost for Americans? And do they need their marriage certificate from America? Or just their passport and visas? What else should we know?

Check out Chaim vChessed’s website. They have all the details you need.
In short:
To get a student visa you will for sure need passport, birth certificate, marriage license, and copies of parents birth certificates.
Meuchedet is definitely the most used. If your son is in the Mir they will help him get the visa and sign up.
The way insurance works is that bituach leumi pays for most of your insurance premium. So right when they get to israel they should sign up for a kupat Cholim and then after 6 months they will get bituach leumi and get a reduced rate.
Hope this helps!
