Last year my DS lived on avocado (one whole one per day), applesauce, banana, sweet potato, mashed potatoes, and mashed eggs.

Most regular foods that everyone else eats should be fine. Babies can even eat harder foods without teeth. Soup, veggies, kugel, chicken, small pieces of mest, fruits, yogurts, cheese, eggs, matza.

That's really not true. Some babies are not interested in solids until they are closer to a year. But any baby who's old enough, 6 months and showing signs of readiness, and eager to eat, can eat chicken.

Thanks for your replies. Fruits and vegetables are great...but how can I suddenly take away all carbs? Grains? He hasn't eaten any chicken or meat or eggs yet.
Avocados and sweet potato sound like good ideas...

Potatoes is a starchy vegetable I would consider it carb like.

Most babies can eat anything if it’s in small enough pieces.

Pesach is the perfect time to start eating chicken meat and eggs! Especially since eggs are a big allergen and it's better to introduce those sooner rather than later.

A 9 month old needs breast milk or formula . Everything else is just for fun so it makes no difference .

I would be afraid to give matzah so that they shouldn't choke

Instant mashed potatoes are similar consistency to baby cereal. In addition to what was said above, some lady fingers would probably be good as they dissolve sort of like teething crackers. I do soft fruits like mango, banana, kiwi for carbs, puree some zucchini and sweet potatoes for veg. Give chicken soup cooled down, can thicken up with instant mashed potato flakes and that gives it more carbs as well. Soft slow cooked brisket is sweet and easy to shred into small pieces that melt in the mouth

Food for a 9 month old isn’t just for fun. They need it for iron intake. They can eat soft chicken for sure.

That's what they say but a lot of babies I know we're crabby without real food and started sleeping so much better after starting solids. My babies is like that. They could have huge nursing session and an hour later eat a huge plate of food.

I think nutrition wise breast milk is all they need, but some do need the calories from real food.
