is there a special way to wash a crib bumper so it doesn't get ruined?

Try taking out the inside pillow, wash the outside and then restuff the bumper, Or handwash the entire bumper.

Loads of luck to your loads of laundry.

I washed one once and the stuffing bunched up. It was a cheap one, and I didn't really like it anyway, so it's OK. Very Happy

I got a real fancy one as a gift and I had no clue how to wash it. It is too big to fit in the mashine and I can't take out the inside because of the stitching. I gave it to the cleaners and it came out beautiful. But I would love to know if someone does know how to clean it.

If you do give it in to the cleaners, let it air out a good long while before using it in the crib because the dry-cleaning chemicals are toxic.

I was telling an acquaintance of mine that I was going to make bumper sets for my sis and sil. She told me to buy the uncovered (covered w/ mattress plastic) and make it like a pillow case Yes b/c otherwise they don't wash well. I'm glad I listened to her advice Thumbs Up . When it came for me to make my own, for my baby, I never finished it Rolling Eyes . It was so cute though. I finally threw it out after about 6 yrs. For my sis and sil, I made it for a boy or girl, but for me, I made it for a girl. Dumb, because so far, bl"ah, she's my only girl.
