I work in a large office doing a (frankly) boring job. Normally I listen to music for more than half the day to keep myself productive - now its sefira. My work output is significantly lower now that I can't listen to music. Has anyone heard of a heter to listen if you need it for work? Please refrain from commenting on how needy the new generation is.

How do you know already that your work output is significantly lower now? Sefira workdays barely started.

I was told that I can listen to music while I drive and while I do housework. There are definitely those who will allow it.

Tonnes of Acapella out there. Can get play lists on spotify. Probably on Jewish radio too. Or listen to podcasts.
There are those who allow if you need it to work out or to keep awake while driving, maybe for
Then there are those who allow recorded music, just not live music.
(and there are those who never allow any music since the churban).

I was told by my Rav that listening privately to music of I need to work, exercise, drive is not a problem. The real issue is live music with instruments and public celebration with music.
I go crazy after the first few minutes of Acapella. The music really annoys me.
