my baby rocks on his pelvis whenever he's bored or tired. it's often. he's 14 months and it's going on for a few months already. at first I figured he was self soothing, as per google and imamother but he seems to be in pain when he does it. what could this be? should I worry and run to the doctor or is this normal?

Ask your pediatrician. I don’t understand what rocks on pelvis even means. Sounds strange.

I hate to be crude, but could he be m@sturbating? Even little babies discover it feels good.

Yeast infection? Uti? Maybe it hurts or itches? I would have the pediatrician look at everything to make sure there is no issue.

This. What slateblue said. What looks like pain is...well, you know.

I thought so at first but he doesn't seem to be enjoying it. he seems to be in pain.
can an infection go on for months? he's been for a well visit not too long ago but I didnt think to mention in and doc didnt see anything of concern.

What does pelvis mean? His p*nis or the pelvic bone near the hips?
Does he cry?
If he’s not crying and not doing anything else strange aside for when he’s bored then I think he is doing what you probably would rather him not do…
You should probably get some tips on how to distract him from this habit. Of course first rule out anything medical.
