Can anyone recommend someone who can make bookshelves for me at an affordable price. I specifically need 8 feet tall, about four units. I’m being quoted $2800 for that which is crazy expensive.

That’s not crazy expensive. Do you have any idea of how long it takes to build a bookcase from scratch, and you want 4 of them.
Dh has built me some furniture from scratch. It takes hours and hours. Plus there is the cost of materials, and they also need to make a profit.

That doesn't sound like crazy expensive to me for 4 solid wood bookcases. Are they custom made?
You can look on wayfair if you don't want to spend that much.

Who quoted you that? Sounds not bad compared to other quotes I've gotten.

Sorry I misunderstood their pricing. 7 feet tall is $2800. 8 ft is $3600. That was at seleqt.
