First house, I was 24 and it was a small house and was around 220k. Semi detached in Baltimore. Second house is double the size BH and we outgrew the house and bought it 10 years later for about double the price. Baltimore. Now the house were in has about doubled in price. Crazy housing market!

27, married 9 years by then.
Close to 500k and had to put some in for fixing up.(interest 2.75% if makes a difference)
Then we became very very very very very very very house poor and struggled greatly until about 3 months ago when we were finally able to cover most of the debts that happened over emergencies.
No help. We don't live over the top at all. I like nice things bt I pinch pennies to cover costs and many ways to get nice things for free or get cheap, diy etc.

I think I was 25. We bought a small starter home for about $200k in Lakewood. No help bh, we used savings and wedding money.
We’ve almost outgrown it but even though our home went up in value so did every other home. I have no idea where we’ll go from here.

Prices are crazy. Especially in Stamford Hill nothing under 1 million for 3 bedroom

As a fellow Stamford hilly, it is crazy here but bh we did purchase just a few years ago, I don't want to give to much details but I am lucky we started when we had a small family. We purchased something as a starter, we had around 180k our own money and borrowed the rest, we took out an interest only mortgage (at first I really didn't want that but DH explained that it is much less and we need it because we still had to pay back all the people that we borrowed from). We managed to pay everyone back the first year and when we want to sell this to move to something larger, we will get our down payment back plus the value that it has gone up.
I used to pay sook much in rent to get someone else rich and now at least whatever I pay is for myself.
Before we purchased it was so difficult and since we did I try to encourage everyone to go for it but you do need to have some down payment
