Can I buy or rent a nice house for a reasonable price?
And in a nice mixed neighborhood where my kids will have kids to play with?
Doesn’t have to be right in monsey. Anywhere close enough so that I can carpool them to school and has Jewish families.

I’m Israeli so anyone and everything goes. As long as it’s a mix. I won’t fit into exclusive crowds.
And yes, I heard Chestnut Ridge is not reasonable at all anymore. What about new city? Pomona? Anywhere else?

Reasonable would probably be around 500k for a nice normal 3/4 bdrm house that doesn’t look like a dumpster.
I checked out Zillow and saw houses in monsey area for 600k that looked like a ghost place.

There’s no such a thing as a house selling in the 500s anymore. Unless you want a tiny dump. Decent High ranches in new city are 750

This seems like a sweet house with good potential in a good neighborhood
Look around, there is what to look at. The farther out you'll go the more bang you'll get for your buck. You just need to know what's important to you, and know what you can afford.
