That’s not in the frum area. Why are you moving? Please say it’s not for “free tuition” because that’s not the case and ppl have to stop coming here expecting a free ride. There’s a housing shortage so not easy to find a place.

Looking at Cleveland mostly because we have a couple of friends there, and we are told that housing is more affordable than it is in the cities we grew up in.
How much is housing? could you please help me see online houses for sale in the right neighborhoods? thanks

Well, that's a nice way of welcoming someone to your neighborhood.

I thought the out of towers were nice, kind, welcoming, friendly people??

Hi,
Welcome, and no it's not.
Best to talk to one of the realtors they know all the houses on the market (and off the market). CH is just a few blocks but people have expanded further out a bit, the farthest out is probably Harvey road off of Staunton.

Here are some links for frum area in University heights. It doesn't look like any houses in frum areas are for sale in Cleveland Heights. Best to call a realtor. Gavi Septon is great. Shoshana Socher is another option. Liza (Ruti) Wolf too. They would know what is truly available.

There's not much for sale in the frum area.
Do you want Cleveland heights or university heights/Beachwood?

This is pretty much Cleveland heights. Looks like there's one house on Harvey.
But the realtors know off market houses

Yes, the houses op was posting are nowhere near frum areas.
The imgur image with light blue highlight boundary is the frum populated blocks of Cleveland heights

University heights is broader, more like from cedar to Fairmount and from Belvoir to green Rd. The other side of green road is Beachwood. I don't know how far in are frum blocks, but including blossom, Deborah, etc

The frum neighborhoods each have different vibes.
You have to know where you'd be happy and comfortable.
Where do your friends live?

Lots of houses never hit the market and are sold word of mouth
As someone else said, speak to Gavi septon and ruti (Liza) wolf

Only house officially on market in CH is 3599 Harvey
There are young frum families (and a few older) on the block

I don't know of other houses in the neighborhood because I'm not in the parsha, but the housing season begins now
And new kollel families are being brought in, so there will be yet another summer of overpriced houses selling...
I am not anti kollel families. I'm anti flooding the neighborhood when we don't have enough housing
But Harvey is picking up now because a recent cohort got creative

I am curious what you mean by not having enough housing. I think the issue is really that shuls are so clustered together, so people don't want to move so far out. Personally, I bought a house on a street that had 3 frum families. Now it is half frum and a very popular block. I think people need to be a little more open minded. (And make house minyanim!)

Shuls are not only on Taylor anymore.
There's ohel Sarah, beis eliyohu, beis doniel, Berkeley shteibel all off Taylor
There are minyanim for fri night and mincha shabbos afternoon in homes I can think of on bendemeer and severn

I don't see the community moving toward Mayfield (maple and the side streets) because the houses and lots on maple are very small, although there are nicer houses on the street past Milliken.
Oh yeah, people moved to private drive, but you have to be willing to do it.

There have been proposals for Milliken lot to be made into frum (large houses) housing, but that hasn't gotten anywhere.

No one wants to be on the other side of Taylor. Other than lower blanche and a few random people scattered here and there, it's not an area we'd want to live. More like the 'hood.

All that's left is moving past Harvey to antisdale or Revere (yes I know there is a family there, but I feel bad for them, they are considered far out even though it's closer to some blocks than other frum ones, because so much non frum area in between)

The block dead ends onto HAC property (forest land), so unless HAC can or wants to create housing there, the is no growth in that direction .

Bainbridge last two blocks have not picked up. Lots of turnover at Bainbridge and maple. The lots are smaller and people feel like it's yehupitz.

I think that people will have to do what the families on Janette and Harvey did. Make their own extension of the neighborhood. It is incredible that around 10 families all live within a block of each other there!

Oh that's funny. I wrote a whole spiel assuming I'm talking to someone in CH.

Yes, I don't understand how it works in UH. Crazy that everything (besides zaz and Aleksandra) are on green road. And people live very far from green.

And the city goes crazy over private minyanim
