Madison Mikvah | Imamother

I've always used the New Hampshire mikvah and have been very happy. Now I need a specific time and only Madison had it available. How does it compare? Do the mikvah ladies check you? anything else I should know before going?

It’s a little older but it’s still decent.
It runs the same as New Hampshire.
At this point they sometimes ask you if you want to be checked.

I was only there 1-2x. It’s older rooms than the downstairs but definitely usable. It’s possible there have been renovations recently but I’m not sure. Either way you check in by the main desk downstairs.

It was totally renovated and just as nice as the one on new hampshire! It's gorgeous!

Are appointments hard to get? Should I make days in advance?

They don’t have a website, you need to call
Appts open at 7am 2 days before the day you need to go

Really?! So good to know! I went once about 10 years ago and vowed I’d never go back! It felt like an old prison!

anyone else feel like the new Hampshire one should be redone. they give gross shampoo, the soaps are nasty, there's always hair in the showers, hot water issues.. I don't love going.

Shampoo at Madison is the gross pink stuff too. But otherwise am very happy with the cleanliness and amenities

I started to bring my own shampoo and it makes a big difference.
I also bring my own brush and comb-they give everyone their own comb but I like mine better.

How does redoing it help the cleanliness and shampoo situation? You should call and complain.

I kinda agree. When it was new it was absolutely show stopping stunning. They sort of let it go a bit. Not terrible ch'v but it's a bit not as "perfect" as it used to be. I'm not complaining since the fee is low and I can't afford to donate $$$.

Does Madison and New Hampshire charge the same much?

The Mikvah - Mikvah Toba on Sunset is also redone and it's really nice!
