They did cast a trans actor in Barbie, but I suspect that the real reason for this is because if they didn't, they would be called transphobic for their portrayal of feminism. (I haven't seen the film, but from what I've heard, they don't center a trans storyline at all.)

Elemental. And it was cute. Nothing amazing, but cute.
And I am not interested in either of those movies. Definitely not barbie. Thats for sure. Saw the trailer. Looked really silly, to me.

Interested in Barbie because it seems like a movie that was made extremely well, and is very unique. I have seen movies like Oppenheimer before, true, serious, historical, war… Barbie is unlike anything I’ve ever seen so looking forward to when its released online.

PSA - for those going to Oppenheimer, as reported by a friend: it's not your hearing! There's actually stuff online about soundtrack issues, apparently the director likes to use a specific recording method...

Im wondering if ppl will stop using the compliment "She looked like barbie". I have heard way too many ppl use that when describing a kallah, etc.
Just a thought

Sorry to burst your bubble. Parts of barbie were made well. Like the scenes in barbieland. All the other scenes looked laughably low budget (close up footage with no scenery or background, very few extras, the sets were sparse). The acting was subpar and the jokes fell flat. The plot had many holes and unanswered questions and was contradictory many times. If you love being forced to watch an endless boring movie about how women are oppressed and all men are terrible and oppressive of women, the this is the movie for you. The best part of the movie for me was the one gorgeous rollerblading outfit. If it is relevant for you, this is not a movie for young girls because of the many zxual jokes and the the fact that they cannot stop talking about how oppressed women are in real life.
I thought the movie would be fun and nostalgic kind of like toy story or Ella Enchanted. It was full of woke garbage (also a trans barbie) and it was a terrible movie to boot.

I think so. But for others it may not be. There is a kiss ir two and two characters go on dates.
Its a cartoon.

I went to Barbie last night and couldn’t believe the hype, I wouldn’t rate it more than 30%. The part I enjoyed most was how they paid homage to Ruth Handler the inventor of Barbie.

I watched sound of Freedom a few weeks ago and it was heartbreaking. Finally gave in and went to see Barbie last night. I personally enjoyed it. Now I’m debating if I should go see Oppenheimer,

Was that the 2010 movie The Sound of Freedom or 2017 movie Sounds of Freedom?
