What have people called their baby boys before their bris? Especially if bris was delayed. My baby is 2 months and we’ve got a long while before his bris. I’m tired of calling him baby boy.

Well, my son's bris was at 16 days. My oldest daughter called him "Screechball" when she visited us at the hospital because of screechy cry. SO, that's what we called him until the bris.. A very fitting name even 14 years later! Lol

Some rabannim will allow you to name the baby before the bris if it’s postponed indefinitely.

Is it actually assur to call the baby boy by the name you plan to name him before the Brit? Or is it just traditional not to?

My cousin did this. He got his name at birth. He had his Bris after a few months.
