Hmmm I like them both!

If naming after a person in Tanach I like to think about who I am especially inspired by/feel connected to. Do you feel that way more about Moshe or Yosef for yourself?

Recently heard Yosef Chaims can be quite a lot of energy to parent! I have a Moshe Chaim. We love the Ramchal connection and love his name! They're both wonderful, you can't go wrong either way!

They’re both beautiful names. Sorry, I know that won’t help you.
Maybe try to find a connection with one of the tzaddikim that had those names. Read about the Ramchal, Rav Moshe Chaim Luzzatto, author of Mesilas Yesharim. There are two famous Yosef Chaim’s, the Ben Ish Chai who was rav in Baghdad, and Rav Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld, the rav of Yerushalayim.

Thanks Smile

Yes, we call him both names (Sephardi pronunciation, so not yosaif). Named for a grandfather, but that wasn't his exact name - we switched the name slightly because we liked this combo

I think you should ignore the comment about Yosef Chaim being a handful. I know 3 Moshe Chaim's who are all extremely energetic and 4 Yosef Chaim's who are very sweet and gentle.

Yosef chaim is a family name by us, but most end up calling them yossi, which I find is a shame. Moshe chaim might be an easier combination if you want to call both names.
And yes the yosef chaim I know are full of life and energy!
