dh just left kollel, and we moved to monsey. the job he is in has a funny schedule so he is looking to spend some time volunteering for a local chesed organization.
we are new here and don't have contacts or connections.
what is the best way to find out what options are available? where should he be looking?

Hi. Yasher Koach . He can try Bikur Cholim, Ohel Bais Ezra, HASC, Chai Lifeline, Tomchei Shobbos, I’m sure their are plenty more I just don’t know that many.

What’s the best way to contact them? Just call the main office and speak to the secretary? Or send an email to their general email address?

Most larger chesed organizations have a volunteer coordinator. When you call the office ask for that person.

All the organizations have a form to register. I would say start with chesed, 24/7 of new square and tomchei shabbos. Between these 3 , he should find some way to volunteer that speaks to him
