Heya

I will take tomorrow the Eurostar to London and we are planning to get an taxi back we bring our pram with and no we don’t have a doona. So question one is there a heimish taxi with a car seat for a baby who can bring us from GG to Sint Pancras international? Yeah I know we can also go with the tube but the last time we found out that we can’t get a lift and we were lost and we almost missed our train and I got a panick attack so I don’t want to have that stress again.

Question two: is there a cute petting zoo somewhere in Hampstead Heath for example where I can go to on chol hamoed where can I go with DS and DH where it is easy accessible with a pram and not a gesheft?

TIA

You could enjoy Golders Hill Park. I don't think you can pet the animals, but they do have lots of animals to see (and I'm sure some of the dog walkers will let you pet their dogs if you want to) Parking near there is not always so easy, but it's a great park.

Don’t have a car there anyway only my own two feet or the bus or the tube 😂

Golders Hill Park is quite near Golders Green Station and you can get a bus right there if you don't want to walk up the hill!

Yes lots of Jewish taxi services
Try Emess or S Express
Its probably not cheap though (no taxi is here)
Another vote for Golders Hill Park, its a nice Park with some animals like deer, lemurs, donkeys, owl, chickens. Cute for younger ones. But you can't touch or pet them. Also 2 ponds with ducks.
You'd need a car or public transport to petting zoos.
Welcome to London !

Oh! That’s easy! I know GG well and I know my way a bit in central but central with a baby is scary…

Hi, how old is your baby? There are many people giving away free car seats or perhaps you can borrow mine (but it’s a booster). Definitely golders hill park.

And the bus/train are very accessible and you can get anywhere.

Sorry my booster won’t be good then, but let me ask on a local group if anyone knows any taxis that provide car seats.

I live in Golders green.

Are you going to be in GG over Succos?

If yes can we invite you for one of the meals?

OP chickensoupprof,

I hope I didn't put you off when I wrote to pm you.
I just thought it would be easier to speak then typing messages to each other.

I am anonymous because I wrote that I live in GG but I am a regular on Imamother. I read a lot of your posts over the years and would be happy to meet with you in person and to invite you if you would like. How do you want to proceed?

Hi

As far as I know, baby does not need to be in a carseat in a taxi.

Most people I know who dont drive and do not have a doona just collapse the buggy and put it in the boot and put baby on their lap.

Obviously not best for long journeys, but totally fine otherwise.

I did this for my first 2 babies before we had a car.
I never bothered using the carseat even though we had one.
No taxi driver has ever made a fuss.

Esp with a 7 month old.
That is easier then with a newborn

Legally a baby or child doesn't have to be in a car seat when in a taxi. If you're not doing a lot of taxi rides, especially if it's only short distances, I would probably just hold my baby and not try to get hold of a car seat.
