I work at home. Typically I have to climb a whole set of stairs and sometimes even get dressed.

Lately though I've had my laptop and both phone lines in bed with me because it's too hot to work upstairs.

I'm so lazy I actually get upset at myself when I have to grab a work file from upstairs lately.

Seven to ten minute drive or 25 minute walk (brisk). With the price of gas where it is, I should walk more.

I work from home and I appreciate the short commute. When we lived in NJ DH had a 2hr commute EACH WAY.

Trying to figure out a way to work from home some day. But for in the meantime, my current job has a 35 minute commute each way (25 miles from home). My shortest commute has been 15 minutes, my longest almost an hour - actually only around 15 miles, but TERRIBLE traffic. DH used to call me traffic girl as I got stuck in practically every notable accident (a flipped over boat in the road, a small plane landed on the highway, someone threatening to jump from an overpass...you name it!).

I used to have a 1 1/2 hour commute each way to and from work (not counting the HEAVY TRAFFIC both ways due to rush hour). I used to get home sometimes 3 hours after setting out. I now work at home and appreciate it immensely!

My workplace is only about 10-15 mins from my house, but in rushhour, it can take me up to 45 minutes. At some points I'm literally crawling - it would be faster to get out and walk! But at night I can do it in 10 - so frustrating!

For me working close to home was one of the biggest requirements when I was job hunting. Leaving my kids was hard enough, but knowing that I can be by them in a matter of minutes is a definite consolation. When things are quiet at work I've even dropped by their school just to bring them a treat or take them out for a quick "date." Last week one of the kids forgot their permission slip and money for a trip. I was there and back in less than 15 minutes. I turned down a job for more money in order to have this flexibility. B'H for now it works.

I try to walk (30 min) or bike (10-15 min) as much as possible, but if the weather is lousy or I need to be home sooner the car ride takes about 5 minutes.
Not as good as working at home, but that would drive me absolutely batty!

interesting when I was young I never went out of the house if it was raining or hot. If I had an appointment I always took a cab.
I just cant believe it, today I commute each direction more than 1 1/2 hours, mostly by 3 bus connections. I'm very proud of myself and my daughters
just dont believe it, me standing at terminals
chanaging busses, and waiting on line, I have 6-7 different bus cards at any given time in my wallet, so that I dont have to bother with small change.
if u ask me. I love the travelling part , no less than my job. I talk, sleep, daven,. say tehillim and prepare my menues.
