Id like to buy an easy to install child car seat that works for babies, all the way to oldest car seat age.

It will only be used a few times a year by a Bubby or a Zaidy who need to be able to attach it easily. I

I want safe and durable but relatively inexpensive.

Whats suitable for this purpose?

We also use this for bubby's car. It's very easy to adjust the straps from one grandchild's size to the next and a relativity easy install and not crazy heavy for them to lift

It's not the cheapest (but not super expensive either), but the Maxicosi Romi is a good pick. It's a convertible birth through older child car seat. It's very lightweight but not junky at all. For grandparents that can make a big difference. It also doesn't have the greatest latch system, but is really simple to thread the seatbelt through. So for grandparents who are taking it in and out and switching from rear to forward and back, it's pretty good.
