Hanina ben Tsofit is a young farmer, who was viciously attacked by Arabs yesterday while harvesting olives near Rimmonim. He's in an induced coma with a serious head injury, and they're fighting for his life.

He's also the nephew and grandchild of some very good friends. His grandparents made aliyah from NY 40 years ago, and helped build up the town of Kochav Hashahar. His dad is one of the finest shochtim I know, truly ehrlich, and everyone in the family are communal helpers and supporters in various ways.

The Arabs whom attacked them hit him with some kind of tool straight into the forehead and crushed it.

They did a surgery this morning and removed the shards of his skull that were embedded in his brain.

Since then, they've only seen improvement. Thank you all for your intense tefillot. There's no doubt in my mind that that's what's helping him.

But apparently he said "Abba" when his father was speaking in the room, so there's hope that he may someday speak again.

Thank you for the update. I shared his name around and davened for him by the shabbos candles and over Shabbos. Will continue until we hear news of his complete recovery, iyh.
