What's average hourly pay for P/T job?

I work part time for 25 years at the same office, approx 6 hours a week in NY. Wondering what my average hourly wage should be, as I think I'm being underpaid.

Managers aren't part time. Part timers make more money.

Really? High school graduates are getting paid a minimum of $25 an hour for secretarial work todays day and age. Wouldn't someone with 25 years experience get a lot more than that?

Not sure what you should get paid but know that in Boro park high school girls are getting $25 an hour at their first job

I don’t know that experience is so valuable when it comes to secretarial work…

For secretarial work 6 hours a week, your 25 years experience probably doesn’t add much value. Why pay more if a young girl can do it for 25$

Maybe you're right. But think about the expenses a mother of 8 has vs. an 18 year old girl.

The CEO doesn't care about your expenses. Get a job with growth and you will get paid a lot as time moves on

But when you work for a frum employer, they do.
My co worker who’s working for longer than I do couldn’t get my boss to agree to cut her hours, but when I had my 1st child it was a given that my hours will be cut. Same for salary.

These thread’s always make me feel terrible about myself. I have a MSW and work in dialysis. I have a degree and really impact patient’s lives.
I have almost 20 years experience.
I make $37/hour.
And I work p/t-20 hours/week

If you only work 6 hours a week, that is worth something in itself. You will have a hard time finding a different job that would hire you for so few hours. The boss is paying you for the job you do...not the expenses you have. That isn't the boss's issue.

Are these six hours really contributing that much to your household expenses? If I was a boss and my employee wanted to work only six hours a week I would assume the income is not desperately needed.

My first thought, Whew this is relative!

I’m a huge believer in self confidence and selve worth, specifically regarding salary. The higher and healthier usually the higher the wage. Cuz you can fend for yourself:)

I started my first job with no experience on a much higher salary than my peers because I presented myself as more.

And at different job, when my self worth was a bit shaken I asked for a raise, One that I deserved and didn’t get it. I asked again just a little while later, walked in with a different aura and bH they honored it.

Of course important to keep in mind that your bosses answer and actions are only puppeting H’s plans for you.
