Can you share what you are preparing for your Chanukah party?

This is what I have so far on my menu (But need more ideas):
Cheese Cake
Broccoli/Sweet Potatoe Quiche
Cheese Blintzts
Cheese Panckaes/Latkes
Kani Salod
Ceasor Salod
Baked Ziti

I feel like these are more typical, and I make them every year. Would love to do something new this year.

Can you share your ideas?

Eggplant parmesan, lasagna, vegetable/spinach lasagna, fettuccine alfredo, penne ala vodka, side of salmon, greek salad, iced coffee.

Also I wouldn't serve both cheese blintzes and cheese latkes, they are too similar.

We're also having different fish mains and potatoes as well as the cheesy stuff. My sister can't have dairy so we also need to have non dairy options as well.
So we're having onion soup (either with or without cheese on top)
Mini rolls-baked into donut shapes, some will be onion rolls and some plain
quiche
baked ziti
homemade pizza
cheese pancakes
salmon
fried haddock goujons
baby potatoes
fries-some cheesy fries and some plain
salads
Dessert will be a donut decorating table, where the kids will be able to decorate their own donuts.
I forgot about cheesecake. My kids would love that for dessert!

What's your sweet potato quiche recipe? Sounds yum.

I was thinking in addition to what’s posted above to have a panini station with breads/cheese/guacamole/eggplant/tomatoes..

Can I put in a word for non-fancy menus?

We will be having soup, salads, tuna quiche, and cabbage kugel. And latkes, of course.
Bread and a few dips for anyone who wants to wash.
With fruit salad and doughnuts for dessert.

It won't take too long, nor cost a fortune, and no ones complained about similar menus in the past.

Same shape, but I'm not doing the boiling water stage which is what makes a bagel a real bagel.

I would add some lower fat and parve options like deviled eggs or vegetable fittata and flounder roll ups. A cut up veggie platter.

Just typed up the whole recipe, but above-mentioned baby managed to somehow delete. Oh well.
It's really not an exact recipe, but always comes out yum and comforting.
I use store bought gnocchi TMI
Sauté some onions in oil or butter, add sliced fresh mushrooms
Add a bit of flour or mushroom sauce powder/ soup mix to thicken
Salt , pepper to taste
Add 2 cups heavy cream and one cup milk and let it simmer for a bit.
Pour onto cooked gnocchi. Mix.
You can add shredded cheese to the pan or on the ready portion.
You can also sprinke some Parmesan for extra flavour.
Good luck Smile

I might do what my grandma always served.
(Crusty rolls)
Salmon
Lettuce salad with sliced egg whites and french dressing
Macaroni and cheese with a crumb topping
She always bought the ice cream loaf cake. I'll likely do cheesecake. Sufganiyot if I get my act together.

I'm a vegetarian and all your menus look fabulous!
Here's a nice salad recipe:
Serves about 6

Large butternut squash (peel, seed, and cube a squash or buy pre-peeled) or 5 raw sweet potatoes peeled and cubed. Coat with olive oil (about 4 T) and roast for 40 minutes at 400 until soft. Squash will take longer than sweet potato. (should yield about 3 cups of vegetables)

Large Shell Package of arugula, washed and checked.

Diamond honey glazed pecans (1/2 cup)

4-6 Large Honey crisp apples, peeled and sliced (drizzle with lemon juice to stop oxidation)

1 Package of Tnuva (or your favorite brand) feta cheese
(adjust these proportions to your taste)

Dressing:
In a small bowl, combine the following and then transfer to a small pitcher
1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
2 Tablespoons of honey mustard
1 Teaspoon salt
2 Teaspoons sugar

In a large bowl combine arugula, apples, roasted squash, ending with nuts and crumbled feta. Dress immediately before serving and toss or serve undressed with pitcher of dressing alongside. Can also add in a 1/2 cup of sunflower seeds for extra crunch.

Thank you! Was going to say this. Pet peeve of mine when people call bread shaped in this way a bagel. It’s not a bagel if it ain’t boiled 😂
