Playa del Carmen specifically.
I want to bring frozen chicken and stuff just wondering if they really enforce that you can’t bring it or it’s just a rule but you most times can get away with it?

They missed my packaged frozen satmer dinners.
Every suitcase goes through an x-ray machine before you exit the airport.
There is a kosher local butcher.

Thank you!
The butcher probably costed a fortune no?

Officially, no. They are strict with it.

If you will get away with it? Maybe.

Do you want to take the risk is the question.

I've heard that they look for people who look frum and go through their stuff extra carefully, since they've learned from experience. And no, wearing a Yankees cap as a "disguise" doesn't work lol. It's up to you if you want to risk it, but you definitely should have a backup plan since there's a good chance they'll take away most or all of your food.

It's illegal to take meat (and a number of other foods) from the US to Mexoco. If it's a known thing that frum Jews are known to try to smuggle food across the border (giving
them the benefit of the doubt thay they just don't know better) why is it wrong of them to davka check their bags?

It’s a known thing that Arabs commit terror attacks and hijack planes.
Is USA then allowed to racial profile Arabs in line at the airport? Same thing

Yeah, it is discriminatory to assume that you might try to swindle food, just because your frum. But wait, didn’t you just ask in your op if you could try to do just that??

Personally I don’t play around with border laws.

I was just in cancun and yes they stopped us by every possible checkpoint and found nothing. Not sure if was cuz we looked jewish. But they would've taken away such foods.

Most countries - including the US - do not permit food to be brought in by tourists - and that includes meat products.

There is an old movie in which Sophia Loren is caught trying to smuggle mortadella into the US from Italy. Smile

There is no "right" to enter a country and it is completely legal and not considered to be discriminatory to "profile" people because that group of people is known to engage in certain behavior patterns at the border of any country.

I would suspect that the percentage of non-frum people who smuggle food into any country - including Mexico - is extremely low compared to frum people heading for Cancun.

Also a tourist in any country has less rights than a citizen since you do not have any rights to enter a country you aren't a citizen of.

FWIW legally you can't bring certain fruits into California because there is such a fear of importing non-native pests.

And blacks commit more crime than other groups and therefore there's a bigger police presence on their neighborhoods.
