Does anyone know the source for doing a segula for 40 days? Does it need to be done by 40 people?
Can anyone recommend a reliable organization for arranging 40 days at the kosel? Thanks, any information is appreciated… technical and inspirational!

I don't think it has a source. It might have started with kupat ha'ir or such a type of fundraiser.

The only source for anything 40 days is if you want to change a middah you should do the opposite for 40 days and after that it becomes ingrained.
