Any ideas of how to prevent my glass jars of pizza and marinara sauce getting moldy after just a few days?

Once they are opened, but them in the freezer. They defrost quickly.
Tomato sauce spoils. It’s nothing you are doing.

Most labels say to use within 3 days. It doesn’t last long

Set your fridge colder. Never seen sauce get moldy so quickly. Are you leaving it out for a long time after opening before putting in the fridge? Do foods in general seem to spoil quickly in your fridge?

You're tried freezing and it still tastes normal?

By me it gets moldy sometimes after a few days and other times after a few months 🤷‍♀️

I started making my own pizza sauce, by seasoning a can of plain tomato sauce. It gets used up before it can go bad.

I always freeze sauce after opening the jar. Pour it in to a container. There's no difference in taste.

Wipe down the lid and the inside top of the jar with paper towel

Of course it is fine.

People routinely freeze tomato sauce when they make it in larger quantities.

The problem with freezing is that typically the container isn't really air tight and so the sauce has a lot of exposure to the air in the container and so can get freezer burn more easily because of the exposure.

Try to put it in as small a container as possible to minimize the air.

If you freeze a lot, it might be worth getting a really good vacuum freezer. An additional benefit is that food is frozen in bags so it takes up less space in the freezer.

It’s the lid that grows the mold dispose the lid and keep it in fridge with a plastic bag and rubber

I use Trader Joe’s marinara sauce and it takes ages to grow mold. Lasts way longer than the Jewish brands in my experience.
