Since the rules changed and Fidelis/UHC started approving more root canals through Medicaid, has anyone gotten one done and not had to pay? Anyone to recommend who does them? My dentist takes Medicaid but not for root canals (for the crown and post he submits it to insurance and sees if they will approve, if yes he will do it through Medicaid).

If you look at google you will say bad ratings but I am tellling you from my experience she is an amazing lovely dentist and also the aide as well. If you are still not comfortable using I would suggest you open a thread asking in general for dentists that accpet your insurance etc..

Thank you all!! I actually have UHC not Fidelis but I am open to switching. My dentist would only charge $1000 for the root canal and then if the crown & post isn't covered it would be an additional $1000. So cheaper than some other places but not by a large amount.
@relaxation thanks for that caveat, I did see the mixed reviews and was wondering.

Dr Adler in bp would do it for 650 under insurance
dr lebowits 12/43 might be fully covered too

Sunset park NYU was great experience for us, did two root canals there but needed to follow up with regular dentist for crown and post. Takes a while to get an appointment, need to keep calling.

I used Dr. Leybovitch in Boro park. Root canal post and crown all covered by UHC. Very happy.
This was about 3yrs ago. Right after Covid.

Did one for dd and never again. Actually ended up paying in the end because after waiting for three hours in a prison-like waiting room they told me I needed a prior authorization by insurance. The place was dingy and depressing. The root canal wasn’t done all the way. Admittedly it was less than half price a regular endodontist charges but not worth it.
