Someone very close to me was struck by a car while walking in the crosswalk. That person is Still recovering from injuries that will have lifetime ramifications. Whats the most they can get for suing the insurance? NY

They need a good lawyer. Wether they can sue or not, or how much, depends on some factors.
They should also ask for & save all medical records & bills.
Was the driver charged or arrested?

Driver stayed on scene and wasn't arrested. I understand that different scenarios get different amounts. I would like to know from ppl that had gone through this if there is significant money for them

Wether they can sue at all, depends on different factors as well.
My relative got $350K from being hit by a car.

It would depend on their medical bills and future damages.

My sister works in the field but in a different state. From hearing her stories, there is definitely a case and potential for a nice amount of damages. You should reach out to an injury lawyer and they will handle the insurance company and make a nice settlement.

First step: get the police report. Then you (or the lawyer) need to see if the accident was called in (for no fault) If not, you, or anyone, can call it in. I’m a hospital social worker and I call these in all the time for my patients

Unless the car had a green light, and pedestrian did not have a white cross signal.

Yes, if a car is turning. Not if a car has a green light and a pedestrian is trying to "make it".

If driver was at fault then they can get quite a lot *if* driver was properly insured. You need a good lawyer.
