I know what everyone will say but I’m asking anyway….

On erev shabbos I took out a pan from the freezer. I THOUGHT I was taking out a pan of homemade peanut chews. I left it on the counter…
Early shabbos morning I peaked into the pan and realized that instead of taking out a pan of peanut chews I took out a pan of raw, frozen, breaded cutlets. Yikes!!
I HATE planning suppers even though I’m married for 2 decades…. For once I planned in advance and this was going to be our supper one night this week.
The chicken had been frozen at first… also it was spiced/breaded so maybe that preserves it more? And the heat in the house was not on overnight on that floor so it was probably around 62/63 degrees overnight.

I quickly threw the pan back in the freezer (and took out the peanut chew pan)…

Would anyone still use this??
(I know.. I know…)

From Erev Shabbos to Shabbos morning? It had probably fully defrosted by then. So no I wouldn’t use it.

No, I wouldn't use it, and you really shouldn't.

It may be fine but still not worth the risk. You are not supposed to refreeze defrosted ,raw chicken.

I will tell u what u want to hear, I would feel the chicken and if it was still really and truly cold then I would stick it right back in the freezer.

I would have put it in fridge and cooked motzoi shabbos or Sunday. I would not use it refrozen.

Absolutely not. That’s really basic rules of safety. Chicken is dangerous if not cared for properly.

I would have thrown it out. It was definitely 100 percent defrosted and room temp after so many hours, and a perfect breeding ground for all kinds of bad stuff.

Spoiled food usually doesn’t smell so that wouldn’t help.
