I remember there was a CY version when I was growing up. It was called Old City Cafe or something like that? But I haven't seen it in ages.
Why hasn't anyone come up with a replacement CY instant mac and cheese???

I remember it but I don’t think it was as good as Wacky Mac.

Now I keep CY and Wacky Mac is honestly the only thing I miss. My husband thinks it’s gross but it was always my favorite comfort food.

I don't know but I wish there was a way to get it more economically, because my kids love the noodle shapes some more than the cheese sauce, so I have to make some boxes with cheese and some without (I save the packets for other noodles).

It also seems like it shouldn't be hard to get a big container of the powdered cheese plain, but I've found it difficult to buy for a consumer.

Skip the tomato sauce, use a bag of shredded cheddar and it’s just as easy as wacky Mac, and no chemicals

My daughter loves daiya “cheeze” sauce. She makes parve Mac n cheese with it.

There are some vegan ones that are kosher. I’m not sure which brands or how good they are but they do exist. I’m sure it’s not the same as wacky Mac though.

Do you mean from a hashkafic perspective or just because it's gross? If it's the latter, I don't blame you. This one is more of a sauce, so the texture aspect is not there.

I don't like fake meat or fake sugar so I can't imagine I'll like fake cheese, but I do use tofutti cream cheese for desserts so maybe I should expand my horizons.

Manishevitz makes ones! Just bought it the other day bc was curious how it compares to wacky Mac. It's actually a pretty close match, maybe a drop saltier

The kraft mac and cheese is so satisfying. I had a bowl tonight. I added butter, milk, salt, pepper, and mixed in a little bit of finely shredded cheese. It's boxed mac and cheese goodness.
