DS is not the yeshiva type and maybe not the college type?
Anyone’s kid successfully launch into adulthood after trade school? If so, what field? Please also comment on frum-friendly and frum-unfriendly aspects.
Hopefully answers aren’t only “computers”
TIA

yes, dd went to trade school right after high school. she wasn't interested in seminary. she became a dental assistant and was doing her internship by the time her friends came home for pesach break.

we have some HVAC young adults in our community, and a friend of mine in Atlanta has her son in a mechanic prep program currently.
My daughter's (public) high school has lots of options to launch towards trade school----- audio/video production, pharmacy tech, nursing, EMT, etc etc.
The frum plumbers in our community are BUSY!

I have heard from some people that it is better to get an unpaid job in the field he wants to go into, instead of trade school....
Things like plumbing, electricians, tiling are the kind of thing you learn a lot on the job.
Mechanics are also in pretty high demand.
I would also invest in courses on running a small business - that the only way to make really nice money in the trades.
Obviously, you need to work for someone else while to get experience - but there is a lot that goes into running a small business, and most people just waste a few years trying this and that until they figure out what works
