Can I count day camp as a childcare deduction on taxes?
Now, what if I live in a state that gave a reimbursement for day camp, can I still count it?
I don’t have an accountant, I use turbo tax, so asking knowledgeable ladies here

What state are you in? What deduction are you referring to? Google and you will likely find articles written by accountants with the answer to your question. I would highly advise against using imamother for tax advice when your question is this vague.

I'd ask the day camp- either way they will need to give u an ein or ss #.

You can’t double dip so if you paid through a dependent care flex plan or got reimbursed you can’t count it but if there’s any money you paid beyond that, the child is under 13 and it’s a legal camp you should be able to deduct that.

Some of us here on imamother are accountants! It's a fairly simple question.
It's a federal credit but I'm not sure if you can double dip. Each state is different so I don't know anything about that part.

You can’t deduct any amount that you were reimbursed for, but you can deduct if you paid anything beyond that.

If camp was $1500, you can claim $500
Does that make sense?
