I don't have a milchig microwave and have to melt butter for a recipe. I have a milchig toaster oven (and stovetop but would rather not get a pot dirty for this). How do I do it?

Do it in a pan on the stove top or toaster oven

What type of heat do you have in your home? Can you just put in on a radiator?

Like just stick it in a foil pan in the toaster?

never tried it, but if you do thaat def cover it. if you have a tiny pan that's easy to clean that's what I would use, on the stovetop.

I'm sure we can think of all sorts of weird solutions, but I don't understand why you can't just
use a pot and clean it afterwards.

Good point. Laziness lol. That option does make the most sense

Dinner done has a recipe for muddy buddies where you melt the chocolate and peanut butter in the oven instead of a pot. Works great. Don’t see why it wouldn’t with butter in a disposable pan in toaster. It would need some trial and error cuz no idea how long it would take.
Go for it and let us know.

(And when you’re all done it’s probably the same amount of time as doing it in a pot and washing the pot and posting about it. Lol, but I get you.)

I've done this in a disposable pan. It works fine. I would caution to do it on low heat or the edges may brown and splatter before the middle of the stick has defrosted.

I boil hot water in a kettle. Pour the water into a bowl/pan put the butter in a smaller bowl/pan inside the hot water.
Not that it helps with dishes that much

I do but mine has temperature settings more like a very small oven. Won’t work in a pop up bread type toaster.
I do it uncovered so I can see when it’s melted.

Put the butter in a ziploc, put ziploc in a bowl of boiling water (from the kettle), pour butter into recipe, ziploc in the garbage, no washing up!

I melt butter in a foil pan on the stove top. Do it on a low flame & be on top of it so it shouldn't burn.

Update: the bag in hot water worked like a charm. Thanks for the suggestion, I will definitely do it again in the future!
