Are there any orthodontists in the greater Lakewood area or not too far away who help kids get approved for braces on United Healthcare? According to the orthodontist we went to, you need 26 points to get approved through Jerseycare, and DS has 20. So his teeth are terrible, but not terrible enough. Is there anyone known for dealing with this who we can take him to?

Nope.
New to the neighborhood, just went to the same orthodontist who works in the Medicaid dentist office. Can you tell me about krug? Is he good? Does he work with UHC and work with you to get approved? If you don't get approved are his prices reasonable?

We're on UHC and getting orthodontics covered through Dr. Krug. His office has lots of experience with this and they are really helpful. And initial consultations are free.
That being said, it's still possible that you won't qualify.

Anyone know if Aetna Better Health (JerseyCare) would cover braces? Do I need to specifically switch to UHC to attempt getting braces covered?

Basicallly, It has to be for a medical reason, not purely cosmetic. For cosmetic reason they dont cover.
