I'm talking about like chocolate brown booties. What color tights do you wear with them? Years ago when brown was last in (yes I feel old now) I had black tights to wear with my black boots and brown tights to wear with my brown. But now I feel like I don't even see brown tights in the stores? (I'm in Israel fwiw.)

Please advise? Because I love the look of brown booties and also clothes that are brown/go with brown, but I'm not sure what to do in the tights department...

Are people doing oatmeal, gray (seems to me not to go with brown), or other colors? Maybe I need to look twice next time I go to the store?

Thanks!

Black tights
I do wear my brown timberlands with grey tights. But I don't think I would wear it if it was brown fashion boots.

Thanks! No, I'm not really talking about fashion boots. They're probably more in the ballpark of timberlands. So if they're casual/sporty in that way, would gray tights be better? (like thick/textured maybe?)

Let's say I have a sweater dress that's a light mocha. Goes with brown, right? On the website I ordered it from, the model is wearing brown boots (but bare legs). So then I have the light mocha, right up against black tights, and then brown boots? Gray doesn't seem right either. There's gotta be another option?

Probably these boots are meant to be worn with pants, but I'm not doing that (maybe obviously).

I looked on the Next website, in the brown boots section, all the models who are wearing skirts and not pants are with bare legs. So why not nude tights?

(Please keep in mind I am not a fashion expert!)

well yes exactly that's what it always shows!! LOL but in real life I think it would look really funny and for me personally at least be really uncomfortable. I hate wearing pantyhose, even in the summer I wear long skirts every day so I can avoid it.

also, these boots especially--they're meant to be practical boots (they're barefoot shoes for anyone who is familiar with that) and I feel like pantyhose really wouldn't cut it... also they're short--booties and so that's a lot of exposed leg/pantyhose, it's not just a little.

O have brown booties. I wear all different color tights/leggings with them. Never thought there were any "have to" when it came to these things

No rules but I'm trying to figure out what will look good (that is available). I feel like there's maybe more of a range available with leggings (thicker) vs smooth tights. I don't really wear leggings... Tights is usually what works for me.

(Maybe I should clarify... I haven't bought these boots yet! I'm just kind of playing it out in my mind... IF I would buy them, what would I wear them with?)

I think black would look fine in that situation. But I'm also no fashionista.

I'm also not a fashionista, but I bought opaque nude tights for just such scenarios when nothing else matches. And, yeah, I'm also from the generation of brown tights with brown boots. I loved that look!

There are brown tights being sold. I see Target has brown sweater tights but you said you’re in Israel and I’m assuming Target is not an option

If I was wearing it with a black dress I'd wear black tights. With a tan dress I'd wear brown for somewhat match the boots (ribbed would be nice) .

I would wear a color, or cream, or even white in a pinch. Maybe someone has colored leggings, if you can't find tights.

I'm sure I COULD get brown tights if I seek them out. It's just mystifying me because usually unless I have an unusual sizing issue (which I have regarding other clothing components, but not tights), I feel like I should be able to get what I need locally! If brown boots are being sold, and dresses in shades of brown that to me don't go with black, then surely there must be something to go with these things???
