Dh was just offered a good job in the lkwd area and I work remotely. My
Oldest kid is in fifth grade. I know I know I should not do anything till the kids
Are in school.

My budget for a house is roughly 800k. I would want a 4 bedroom colonial with a basement that is at least 2000 sqft. Move in ready but I don’t specifically need a brand new
Kitxhen, just something say 15 years old or newer. The area would need kids my
Kids ages.

Is 800k a realistic budget, and what areas of Jackson and really anywhere in the lkwd area should I look. We are middle of the road yeshivish, dh is black and white, my
Kids will watch an occasional Disney movie. I want a fully detached house with yard.

Not OP but you can get 4 bedrooms, 2000 sqft, basement, for 600k? Where can I find these magical houses?

Yeah, I don't think that exists. 4 bedrooms a little under 2k sq feet with no basement are going for over 600

Possibly...or not. OP's oldest is already in 5th grade. Hard to move to a brand new neighborhood at that stage. Even if the neighborhood fills up it will likely be young families.

This is right near whispering hills which already has many Jewish families. There are also a bunch of other Jews on surrounding blocks and a shul less than 10 min from here

Why specifically Jackson? You'll get a lot more for your money in Manchester

800 is a decent amount to start and you can definitely find SOMETHING in that range, but I don’t think you’ll find anything in an established area, and considering you’ll have a 5th grader, that’s pretty important I think. To move to an area with families that have kids your daughter’s age. I would say 900k for a detached house with a big backyard that’s about 2500 square feet is doable. If you’re willing to do new areas you can get 800k. Depends if you’d rather spend less , or be near older kids . Good luck !

Here you go. Doesn’t have a basement but under 8. In a very Jewish neighborhood with plenty of 5th graders. Definitely doable

This is actually a great area with a ton of kids 5th grade !
It’s a nice size . And pool. If it’s decent inside it will go super quickly, and likely to be bidding war and end up going for above asking price.

My oldest is in fifth grade now, will be in sixth next year. I thought Manchester was younger. Is there a decent amount of families with kids that age? Also, is Manchester as spacious and suburban as Jackson? I have never been to Manchester before. I have been to many areas of Jackson, some with bigger houses some smaller but every area was so peaceful with huge yards.

Manchester doesn't have as big yards it's not country like like Jackson but tonz of families that age and you can get new construction for 800 def more worth ur money. They have eruv, mikvah for shabos and weekday being built, grocery store, and 7+ shuls. It's also more of a community feel than jackson
