Is there any benefit to withdrawing pension early in a situation of divorce even though this incurs a tax- or is it always better to wait until retirement?

Please speak to an attorney. As an incident of divorce the transfer of a pension should not incur an fees. If there is an IRA and you don't roll it over (and cash it out), then you incur penalties. However a straight transfer due to a divorce should not incur fees.

it's a pension account so it is only available at retirement unless it's withdrawn earlier which incurs taxes.
I'm curious if there's ever a benefit to getting that money sooner even though it comes at a cost.
