If you have a really good sweet and sour meatballs recipe, please share!
I prefer when it's not extremely sweet, if you know what I mean.

Peas love n carrots has an amazing one but a bit of a patchkeh
Table for Two by Rivka Parizad has a simpler one. They're a bit spicy but you can cut out the spicy ingredients. I can post recipes if you're interested. Neither are overly sweet

I see now they're called Sweet and Spicy Meatballs but they're similar to sweet and sour and still delicious
Meatballs:
3/4 lb ground beef
6 Tbsp breadcrumbs
2 Tbsp water
3/4 tsp garlic powder
3/4 tsp onion powder
Sauce:
1/2 Tbsp oil
2 cloves crushed garlic
1 c jellied cranberry sauce
1/3 c chili sauce (ketchup type)
2 Tbsp hot sauce
1 Tbsp vinegar
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
Knead meatball ingredients and form into 1 inch balls
Sauce- heat oil, sautee crushed garlic for 1-2 minutes over low heat. Add remaining ingredients, cover and bring to boil. Reduce heat, drop in meatballs one at a time. Cover and simmer for 15-20 min
This is from a cookbook for newlyweds so it's small amounts. I adjusted the meat mixture amounts like this:
1 lb ground beef
7.5 Tbsp bread crumbs (be a bit skimpy)
2.5 Tbsp water
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
Then I basically do 1.5 times the sauce and do a lot of eyeballing. I don't have exact measurements for that but they always come out great
