If I put my nose to my 2 month old's armpits, it smells like adult underarm body odor. The smell goes away right after I clean it in the bath. I wonder how common this is. I can not smell it unless I am literally almost touching her skin. If you have a little baby, would you smell its armpits and comment if it smells like bad underarm sweat.
TIA!

Are you talking about like a red rash in the skin folds that's smelly? My babies have had that in neck folds, armpit, etc. I just make sure to wash, dry thoroughly after baths, and put a little aquaphor if it's irritated. I'll try to remember to smell my baby's pits next time I pick her up Smile.

It’s not strong enough to smell through the clothes. There is not rash. I know what you’re taking about in terms of the red rash on the neck. That has a different smell.

It is a sign of early puberty. Hopefully that won’t happen.

My other kid who is a now 3 had the same thing. That’s why I was curious if other people had that too. He is healthy and does not have smelly armpits now.

The smell is literally only detectable when my nose is almost touching her skin. It went away with washing but smelled again this morning.

Is it a little like a dead skin smell?

It smells exactly like the sweat you would smell when someone does not use deodorant

Nope

Not familiar

I thought a bit sour smell of old skin in the folds. If left alone it can turn into rash.
Not grown up smell
