My heart has been with israel for the past while. I’m having a baby soon (not sure gender).
Can you please recommend names that are in honor of Israel but not Zionist.

Ex- I wouldn’t name a daughter Golda or a son Netanyahu…

Ariel (or ariella) Yerushalayim and the BHMK are referred to as Ariel. Yehuda is a good one as well.
Yisrael is a beautiful name.
Ezra (rebuilt)

For girls-Shalva, Nechama.
Nava-Nava K'yerushalayim (beautiful like Y'm)
Aliza-Yerushalayim is refered to as Kiriah Aliza.

Tzion or Tziona (bit more zionistic tho..depends on your circles) or Benzion

I believe E"Y is also called ארץ הצבי
Also love the Ariel - we named one son Ariel for Yerushalayim. We also named a son Binyamin as he was our first son born in E"Y, just as Binyamin was Yaakov's only son born in E"Y.
Bshaa tova and I think it is so beautiful to name a child for EY or Yerushalayim - it really connects them to our land.

Yes! My son has both Tzvi and Ariel as middle names. Tzvi was after relatives but I added Ariel for Yerushalayim because I didn’t know about Eretz Hatzvi and now I feel like Ariel was a bit superfluous, lol.

My son’s name is Yisrael Shalom. He’s older but in last few months I keep thinking how appropriate for the times his name is. (We don’t call him by his full name though)
