What made you feel old today?

This conversation made me feel like a dinosaur.
My kids had the NakiRadio playing and I was singing along to some of the songs.
DD: How do you know all of these songs??
Me: These were all popular when I was a kid!
DD: Really? They're so old?
Me: Hey, I'm not that old!
Me: ...what station is this? Great songs.
DS (smirking): It's "A Taste of Yesteryear."

Oh.
I never turned on that station because "yesteryear" is, like, old boring music, isn't it?
Evidently not.

A few weeks ago, I was chatting in the park with the mother of my 4 year old's friend. She mentioned how old she was when I realized I was 15 years older that really hit me.

Realize that I remember when sushi first was introduced to the kosher world and we all thought it was the weirdest thing... And how I was the first of my friends to be willing to taste it...

My oldest is turning 7.

Yes, some of you are reading this and laughing that I’m so young, but… I still get nightmares that I’m running after the school bus and I still feel like I’m in high school!

More then once a week I look at my children screaming for food and toys and whatnot and I think, when is their mother coming to feed and take care of them?

Ooh, yes, my parents and in-laws are coming to us for Pesach - and so are most of my friends' parents. That makes me feel old too.

I’m the grandma in my pre-1A daughter’s class because I have a high schooler LOL

Chatting with kid's mom in the park, playing with my kid, both under 5. Playing Jewish geography. We worked out I was in school with her mom (is my kid's friend's grandmother) and the mom could be my daughter.

Bh we both saw the funny side but I feel OLD.

(PIF means I don't have any older kids)

My oldest is a 13 year old but was older when he was born so my friends who are my actual age have almost adult children. It makes for some really old feeling moments because my 4 year old is not my oldest I was well into my 30s when she was born so some of her friends mothers are a whole different generation. Its a very strange feeling.
